The Yamaha YAS-480 intermediate alto saxophone offers features characteristic of Yamaha professional models, encouraging a progressing player to develop their tone and technique.

The octave-key mechanism allows Custom series necks to be interchanged with the supplied 62-style neck, and adjustable screw cap stoppers on the key guards permit fine-tuning of the lower key mechanism.
