BUY-BACK

Good news for first-time buyers

We would all like beginners to have the best possible instruments to learn on, but a good quality starter instrument can often appear expensive, especially as there can be uncertainty about how long it will be required.

So, for your peace of mind, we supply all our student instruments, whether new or refurbished, with a buy-back guarantee. This means at the time of purchase we make a guaranteed offer for the instrument should you need to return it at any time within the first twelve months of ownership. In effect, during the crucial early months of learning you are only committed to what might be regarded as a modest hire fee for the instrument. For many instruments this could be as little as £30.00 for six months' use.

Buy-back prices for all ranges of instruments available on this scheme can be viewed by following the link below. However, to give you an idea, here are a couple of examples:

  • A new Catelinet CTR10 student trumpet in lacquered finish bought for £225.00, at any time up to six months from the date of purchase will attract a guaranteed buy-back offer of £195.00, or between six and twelve months £145.00. (Cost to you: £30.00 for six months' use or £80.00 for twelve months' use)

  • A new Catelinet CAS10 student alto saxophone bought for £445.00, at any time up to six months from the date of purchase will attract a guaranteed buy-back offer of £395.00, or between six and twelve months £320.00. (Cost to you: £50.00 for six months' use or £125.00 for twelve months' use)

Refurbished used instruments attract a similar guaranteed buy-back offer to their equivalent new instrument, so no matter how much you choose to spend or which brand you choose, you are exposed to the same cost for the initial twelve months of ownership.

If you wish to return an instrument to us after the first twelve months have expired we are always happy to make an offer based on how long you have owned it and the cost of preparing it for its next potential owner.

Conditions:

The instrument should be returned to us in reasonable condition. If there is wear or damage to the instrument beyond that which would occur through normal use, we reserve the right to reduce our offer to take this into account, though this is rarely necessary.

Ideally, you should retain your receipt or invoice as proof of purchase and to enable us to quickly identify the instrument. However, if you lose your receipt we should still be able to confirm your purchase from our records.

Please note that buy-back is only available on instruments supplied face-to-face in our showroom, not on those purchased via our online shop, nor do we offer a buyback on instruments purchased through the VAT-free AIPS (Assisted Instrument Purchase Scheme).
