The Mr Tuba bag is a fully synthetic, padded gigbag designed to accommodate most standard EE-flat tubas. Built for regular transport and daily use, it features a soft, non-abrasive lining and dense internal padding to protect your instrument from knocks and abrasion. A rigid bell protector provides added security for one of the most vulnerable parts of the tuba during travel.
For comfort and practicality, the bag includes padded rucksack straps with a quick-release sternum strap for balanced support. Two side handles allow for easy lifting in tight spaces. Storage is also well considered, with a large external zip-up pocket suitable for music and accessories, plus an internal security pocket for smaller valuables or essential items.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
It’s designed to accommodate most standard EE-flat top-action (3+1) tubas, including the Besson Sovereign 982 and Yamaha Neo YEB-632. However, the Willson 3400TA, which has a more elongated form, requires the larger BB-flat bag.
It accommodates instruments with a bell diameter up to 19 inches (483 mm) and a body length up to 36 inches (920 mm).
The Willson 3400TA fits best in the larger BB-flat bag. Otherwise, we supply this gigbag online and in-store to dozens of customers each year and are not aware of any other common fitting issues. If we discover more we will update our product information accordingly.
It’s lighter and less bulky than a hard case, while still offering reliable padding and protection. The backpack straps improve portability, and it packs flat for easy storage during rehearsals or performances. For everyday local use, it’s the more convenient option. A hard case, by contrast, is better for touring, long-distance travel, or long-term storage, when maximum protection is essential.
