The NEW Besson Prestige is a major refinement of an established design, offering acoustic and aesthetic improvements for today’s cornet players. Manufactured in Germany, it reflects Besson’s long-standing approach, combining traditional construction methods with incremental technical updates.
The Prestige 2029 has been developed in consultation with leading performers, including Roger Webster, with input focused on achieving greater tonal stability, improved projection, and enhanced control. Design adjustments include a revised bell taper and larger bell diameter, contributing to a broader, more centred sound. Reversed valve slides (first and third) have been incorporated to support freer airflow and improved intonation management.
The instrument offers a balanced playing experience, with even response across the register and consistent articulation. The combination of a yellow brass bell and gold brass leadpipe supports a tonal profile that remains characteristic of the Prestige heritage, with clarity and warmth maintained throughout dynamic changes.
