The Vincent Bach 181 is an American-built long model (‘American wrap’) cornet. It produces a brighter sound in comparison to the shepherd’s crook models favoured by British-style brass bands.
Though not widely used in brass bands, the long model cornet is useful when a more penetrating cornet sound is required, for example, in jazz or Dixieland.
