The Holton Collegiate B490R is a well-built starter euphonium. Unusually for an instrument sold in the UK, it features four in-line piston valves, played with all four fingers of the right hand.
The 11 in. bell helps provide a big, focused sound that projects well. Stainless steel pistons ensure a long life for the valve section, and a rose brass mouthpipe resists corrosion.
