This tuba harness with front plate, designed by German tubist Rudi Schwarz, provides a secure and comfortable means of supporting a tuba during standing performances, rehearsals, parades and processions. Its ergonomic cross-harness design distributes the tuba’s weight across both shoulders, while the rigid front support plate helps provide a stable platform for supporting the instrument during extended periods of playing.
Manufactured from durable black nylon, the harness features wide, adjustable, well-padded shoulder straps. The support plate incorporates a central special retaining hook with an integral retaining catch to allow the instrument to be detached quickly whilst helping to prevent accidental disengagement during use. A shoulder-mounted safety lanyard provides additional security, and the harness is fully adjustable for both height and width to accommodate a variety of players, instruments and playing positions.
The harness attaches to a carrying ring fitted to the instrument. If your tuba is not already equipped with one, a compatible D-ring adaptor is available separately.

Unlike a simple shoulder strap, the Rudi Schwarz design combines a cross-harness with a rigid front support plate. This distributes the instrument's weight across both shoulders whilst providing stable support for the tuba, helping to improve comfort and maintain a consistent playing position during extended periods of standing.
The rigid front support plate supports the bottom bow of the tuba and helps keep the instrument in a stable playing position. The central retaining hook with integral retaining catch allows the instrument to be attached and removed quickly whilst helping to prevent it from becoming accidentally detached.
