The first Yamaha 62 professional saxophone model was released in 1978, developed with the assistance of Eugene Rousseau, the distinguished American classical saxophonist and teacher, who gave the first solo saxophone recitals in London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna and Amsterdam.
It has since become a modern-day classic, undergoing refinements and improvements over the years. The latest include a new style of neck, improved keywork to give a better response in the low register, and a delicate new design on the hand-engraved bell.
