Description

The Adams E2-LT euphonium is a lightweight evolution of the E2 model, developed in close collaboration with Glyn Williams of The Cory Band. Incorporating his feedback, it combines selected features of the Adams E1 and E2.

The instrument has a 0.80 mm brass body and a 0.60 mm red brass bell with a smaller 305 mm diameter, as used on the E1. The bell also features the soldered rim of the E2. The E2 valve block is paired with lighter E1 bottom caps, while a heavyweight fourth-valve bottom cap adds mass to the valve section.

Adams is a Netherlands-based instrument manufacturer of brass and percussion instruments. At the forefront of instrument development, they offer four models of compensating euphonium: the E1, E2, E2-LT,and E3. Each has a standard specification, plus custom options for bell material and thickness (gauge), for finish, and the addition of a main tuning slide trigger and protection plate.

All Adams euphoniums feature an adjustable gap receiver which permits the distance between the tip of the mouthpiece shank and the start of the leadpipe to be modified according to mouthpiece taper and player preference. The mouthpiece receiver is mounted on a thread, allowing it to be rotated to widen or narrow the gap. Once adjusted it is secured in position by a thumbscrew.
