The Conn 62HI combines the broad, colourful sound of the Conn Symphony tradition with the practical advantages of an independent double-rotor system. Favoured in orchestral, ensemble and commercial settings, it delivers a rich, resonant tone with excellent projection and clarity.

Its rose brass bell contributes warmth and depth, while the inline rotor system provides confident access to the lowest register. The open-wrap design promotes a free and responsive feel, and interchangeable leadpipes allow players to tailor the instrument's response to their own preferences.

Finished in silver plate, the 62HISP combines the established performance characteristics of the 62HI with a distinctive and elegant appearance.

Along with a larger bore and bell diameter, bass trombones are often equipped with a second rotor to extend their low register. There are two double-rotor systems: ‘independent’ and ‘dependent’. An independent system has both rotors sitting side-by-side (or ‘inline’) on the neck-pipe, where they can function alone or in tandem. Dependent models locate the second rotor on the F attachment rather than the neck-pipe, hence the alternative descriptors ‘stacked’ or ‘offset’. In this configuration, use of the second rotor depends on the first rotor being simultaneously engaged.
