The 'lyre' is a small sheet music holder used by military and marching band musicians to hold printed parts when a floor stand is impractical. Some woodwind instruments (student saxophones, for example) are equipped with a 'lyre box' with a tension screw to grip the lyre stem. Other solutions depend on finding an attachment which suits a particular instrument or the player's preference.
