The most widely played professional clarinet in the world, the R13 was created in 1955 by instrument maker Robert Carrée. (He joined Buffet as an apprentice in 1921, and a later model, the RC, bears his initials.)
Deriving from its characteristic bore, the tone of the R13 is focused, rich and powerful in all registers. Its flexibility lends itself to all repertoires: symphonies or chamber music, soloists, teachers, military bands, students or amateurs.
Green LinE models are made from reconstituted African blackwood (grenadilla), which not only helps conserve a scarce resource but the resulting material is more stable over a long period, and less prone to cracking than instruments with a natural grain.
