Spencer's Snake Oil

Spencer’s Snake Oil is a valve oil that incorporates microscopic particles of PTFE, an almost frictionless chemical, to enhance its lubricating properties.

Valve oil is essential for keeping all valved brass instruments in good playing condition. If you play regularly, we recommend every week removing each valve in turn, wiping it clean with a lint-free cloth, and applying a small amount (two or three drops) of valve oil before carefully refitting.
