Description
Limited stock: this line is discontinued.
The Selmer CP100 is a now discontinued ebonite clarinet mouthpiece which was offered in a range of three models (118, 122 and 125), each with a unique combination of tip opening (distance between tip of mouthpiece and tip of reed) and facing length (distance from tip opening to where reed first touches the mouthpiece).
It would be an excellent upgrade for a player who wanted to move from a plastic entry-level model to a good quality ebonite mouthpiece. As a rule of thumb, a narrower tip opening is more suited to a harder reed: the 122 model would most suit players using reeds of strength 2 or 2½.
Manufacturer’s description:
‘A very flexible mouthpiece adaptable to various playing situations (from solo work to playing in an orchestral clarinet section). It is an easy-blowing, controllable, full-tone mouthpiece with excellent tuning balance across the scale. An interesting professional mouthpiece.’
Note: Selmer has overhauled its range of clarinet mouthpieces, replacing long established designs including the Standard, C85 and CP100 with two new mouthpieces, the Focus and the Concept.Model | Tip opening (mm) | Table length (mm) | Tone chamber |
